Calgary police have laid charges against a Calgary man in relation to an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) incident that occurred near the Calgary International Airport earlier this month.

Sgt. Colin Foster said police observed a man in a public park, located near 2616 16 St NE, flying a UAV, commonly known as a drone, on Jan. 17, around 6:45 p.m. The drone was seen flying under the flight path of a Calgary airport runway.

According to police they then observed the man leaving the park and entering his vehicle, but before he could drive away, police conducted a traffic stop and arrested him for flying the UAV. | READ MORE
